Never Have I Ever Tuesday.

I've done a lot of new things this year. It's been a good one for me and I think I've been more open to trying things. And maybe I should be growing up and acting like an adult or something, but I want to keep learning and being brave. But there are some things I haven't done yet.

 Confession: I've never built a fort.

 I don't really have a head for architecture and when I was a kid I couldn't figure out how they were supposed to be constructed or with what. Pillows, blankets, plastic sheeting, I still don't know what they're made of if I'm being honest. Plus, I hate being really hot and I can never keep my head under a blanket for a long period of time and I feel like in a fort I would suffocate. We had a tent in our basement (that's how much I hate being outside--we put the tent inside) and I couldn't really be in it with another person. But I'm pretty sure you can't build or enjoy a fort alone.

Maybe some day I'll be brave enough to try and build a fort.

I want to be good at the things my Mom is good at. I've never had the problem some of my friends have like hating their parents or wishing they wouldn't turn out like them. Spoiler alert, we all end up being our parents to a certain extent. But I've always actually wanted to be just like my parents. And why not?! My Mom is an amazing woman and I have so many of her qualities, good and bad, but I want to be able to do the things she can do and do them as good. The Kindness of Strangers

And wouldn't you know it, I forgot to take pictures of the food. Oh well. I thought they turned out pretty well and I had a good time at the party. I met some new people and it was just nice to not spend another Saturday by myself. Not that I mind, it was just nice. I ordered an Iron Scroll Bakers Rack from Pier 1 a few weeks ago and it finally got here! I was so excited because until now I've had a ton of stuff just sitting on my counter tops because there's no room for them in the cupboards. My Starbucks coffee cup collection, spare coffee cups from my permanent collection, my cook books, all manner of random items that I do not have space for in my clown car sized apartment. So needless to say, this purchase is special and I couldn't wait for it to get here. And it finally did! I've Got Another Confession To Make...

I've been thinking about adding some kind of "confession section" to this blog, even though the entire thing is kind of a confessional. I mean, isn't it? I try and figure life out and in the process confess, through embarrassing true stories, that I'm basically flailing through life. Well. We'll give it the old college try. Confession: I have really weird thoughts. When I moved into my first apartment I was afraid to sit on the floor because I thought if my downstairs neighbor shot himself, the bullet would come through the ceiling and kill me. Even now, it takes me about 2 weeks, maybe 3, to get comfortable sitting on the floor in a new apartment. What do you think? Short confessions like so, every week?
